Dublin is justifiably famous for its magnificent public houses. But with such a plethora of choice, how is someone new to the city possibly supposed to settle on an establishment in which to whet their whistle? Fear not - we’ve selected the 3 pubs we think you should visit while here!

  1. The Long Hall, George’s Street

A favorite of visiting celebrities!!

If you’re in need of a quiet pint in beautiful Victorian surroundings there is no finer place than this charming pub. The dark mahogany panels and gold mirrors of this 250 year old establishment speak to its august history. Pop in on a weekday afternoon and you could spend hours in quiet contemplation. On a busier Friday evening you may find good company with local regulars, or perhaps even Bruce Springsteen, who makes a point of visiting whenever he’s in town!

  1. O’Donoghue’s, Merrion Row

The name O’Donoghue’s is synonymous with good music enjoyed in good company. Throughout its storied history this pub has played host to some of the greatest Irish traditional musicians to have ever set foot on stage - not least Ronnie Drew and the Dubliners. It remains one of the best places to catch some talented Irish musicians performing while you sit back and enjoy a pint or two. O’Donoghue’s Bar

  1. The Stag’s Head, Dame Court

If you’re in search of a lively time and good food, the Stag’s head should be your destination. With three floors of food, drink, music, comedy and craic, the Stag’s head is a prime example of the best an Irish gastropub has to offer. There’s always something happening here, but for a unique evening experience we recommend stopping by for one of the free comedy gigs, which you can enjoy with a bite to eat and a drink (or several). There is no finer pub in Dublin, no matter what you’re in search of.
